On 12 January 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia received and hosted a dinner to the Malaysian delegation comprising Dato’ Akmal Che Mustafa, Under Secretary for South East Asia Division, Dato’ Zanariah Xainal Abidin, Director - General for ASEAN - Malaysia, Ambassador Fenny Nuli, Director of Sarawak Regional Office, MOFA, Mr. Devrin Jeck, Under Secretary of the International Cooperation and Development Division, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, and Mr. Danny Bungan, Special Functions Officer (Policy & Strategy) to the Minister of National Unity, National Unity Miniter’s Office, at the Ambassador’s residence.

 

The meeting provided a good opportunity to following up on the bilateral visit exchanges between Thailand - Malaysia, expressing Thailand’s readiness to support Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, as well as exploring further cooperation in related fields such as international cooperation and development and Thai businesses’ presence and investment in Sarawak, etc. The Malaysian delegation commended the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur for its active engagement and strong determination in advancing Thailand - Malaysia relations, as well as promoting Thailand’s soft power through food with its unique taste and characteristic, which had been presented nicely for eyes and savoury flavour.
