During 21 - 23 August 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and the Thai Students Association in Malaysia (TSAM), organised the 2026 TSAM Leadership Camp and Networking Programme between Thai Youths from SBPs and Thai Students in Malaysia at the Embassy, famous landmarks in Kuala Lumpur, and Lilla Hilltop Retreat in Pahang. The Programme was well participated by over 60 Thai youths, comprising those who previously participated in the DVIFA’s Training Programme at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Thai students in Malaysia.

 

On 21 August 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, welcomed and delivered remarks to the participating youths from SBPs and Thai students in Malaysia at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. In her address, Ambassador Lada underscored the importance of the programme, which was initiated by the Royal Thai Embassy and has been held continuously for the third consecutive year, also highlighted the Embassy’s role in promoting Thailand - Malaysia relations across all dimensions, including its support for Thai students in Malaysia through the Centre for Thai Students in Malaysia, established under the Royal Thai Embassy. The Centre provides assistance, advice, and coordination for various activities for Thai students studying in Malaysia.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy also organized a briefing on Thailand - Malaysia relations, with a particular focus on the Embassy’s role in supporting Thai businesses in Malaysia and protecting and providing assistance to Thai nationals in Malaysia.

On this occasion, the Embassy hosted a dinner for the participating youths from SBPs and Thai Students in Malaysia, together with officials, and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The participants showed great interest in learning about and exchanging views on the Embassy’s missions, making the activity a highly engaging and memorable experience for all participants.
