On 16 July 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, welcomed the delegation from the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Thai entrepreneurs participating in the 3rd Agropreneur Business Incubator Program (ABI), during a visit to Malaysia from 15 to 17 July 2025. Mr. Palit Bhirombhakdi, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Membership Empowerment Committee led 29 members, mostly engaged in the agricultural sector, including agri-processed products, to pay a courtesy call on the Ambassador at the Royal Thai Embassy. Mr. Worawan Wanwil, Minister-Counsellor (Commercial), and Mr. Chaiyut Boonkong, Commercial Counsellor, also joined the session
During the meeting, the Ambassador exchanged information on Malaysia’s current economic landscape, economic relations between Thailand and Malaysia, opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations in trade, investment, the halal industry and other sectors, and challenges encountered by Thai entrepreneurs conducting business in Malaysia. The Office of Commercial Affairs, Kuala Lumpur, also provided information on its mission and exchanged views on market opportunities for Thai agri-processed products in Malaysia, market entry strategies, and distribution channels in the Malaysian market.
On this occasion, the Ambassador also highlighted the close cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and the Thai private sector both in Thailand and Malaysia through the Embassy’s economic initiatives and various activities. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of enhancing the capacity and readiness of Thai entrepreneurs from the southern border provinces of Thailand, which will help expand economic opportunities in Malaysia and contribute to the development and prosperity of the community.
The meeting was held in a constructive and engaging atmosphere, with the participating entrepreneurs actively sharing their perspectives. The Royal Thai Embassy reaffirmed its readiness to support the Thai private sector, recognizing it as a key player in strengthening concrete cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia for mutual benefit.
